Gain the practical knowledge and tools to teach yin yoga in this continuing education module.
Yin Yoga is an introspective mat based practice, where poses are held for a longer period and practitioners are invited to go inward to focus on their body, breath and sensations.
This training aims to provide a solid foundation of yin theory, anatomy, and poses, together with practical skills so that you feel confident to begin teaching right away.
Learn about the history, key principles, and movement concepts.
Refine your skills through practice teaching with peers, and receive real time feedback.
My very first Yoga Teachers Training was taken was Yin with Sarah at PYC City Centre. I wanted to explore other modalities of movement for my physical disabilities. In meeting Sarah, hearing her calming voice, and the story of why she brought Yin to her studio, captured me and started my teacher training development/relationship with Power Yoga Canada. The training and Sarah are absolutely wonderful.
I can’t recommend Sarah’s YIN teacher training enough! Sarah’s content is thoughtfully delivered and grounded in both the philosophy and practice of YIN. I also had the opportunity to assist Sarah in a YIN training. I felt supported and inspired during the training. The balance of theory and hands-on practice was perfect. I walked away not only with a deeper understanding of YIN yoga, but also with tools that have enhanced both my teaching and my personal practice.
After several years of being a student, I took the yin teacher training with an intention to have a deeper understanding of the fundamentals of yin. I received this and much more. I left the training not only being confident to teach a yin class but also left possessing a deeper understanding and appreciation of the yin practice and the benefits yin provides especially as we get older.
The PYC Academy has a reputation for producing outstanding teachers, from every course and certification offered in our broader community. The Yin Yoga Teacher Training is part of PYC’s 300 hour academy of modules and can be used towards that certificate.
There is no requirement to have an existing yoga teacher certification to take this course. We have had many participants who have taken this course to deepen their own personal practices. However, all participants must perform the practice teaching elements as part of the training.
Most yoga studios and gyms require their instructors to have a 200 hour yoga certification to teach to the public (It is mandatory for us). We recommend that you reach out to them directly for their requirements for teachers if you are intending to use your certification to teach to the public. You can find out more information about PYC’s 200 hour teacher training by visiting.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English.
Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
